- If Conservatives take out the liberal majority in November 2010 it will be because of jobs, taxes, and envy of the elite who pretend to love the poor but have not ended poverty.

- Imagine Sarah Palin promising an Alaska-like dividend--based on the current need to stay ahead of China in science and technology as a national security imperative.

- Populist-talking conservatives can regain power--if they promise people money and the love of God and Country.

- The rich behind the rhetoric can buy their return to power at zero cost to them--it they are willing to use debt-free and tax-free money the way money cranks advise and academics in power (except for Bernanke) refuse to do so far.

- If she never was from Alaska, this possibility would not exist. The word "Alaska" immunizes "socialism" from remaining a dirty word.

- Chaney has already broadcast that deficits do not matter--and taxes are bad for business.

- A leopard can't change its spots -- but conservatives love power--and they may be quick to see the path back to it is open.

- The liberals are now responsible for all the pain around us.

- The conservatives are, in fact, corporatists--not conservative. And these corporatists can make and hold on to fortunes far easier if they appeal to the working class--like Ronald Reagan did--without trying to beggar everyone for lack of imaginative alternatives.

- So you may ask, is Gelles liberal or conservative? He is neither. He is a money crank and, like Moonbeam Jerry Brown, puts his faith in high tech artificial intelligence as the key to keeping human rights protected if we try.

- Gelles is a fan of Functional Finance as explained by Abba Lerner and of Keynes Without Debt as explained by Ron Morrison. He also sees direct purchase of long term Treasury bonds by the Federal Reserve as the on-going simplest path to debt-free, tax-free spending money to create heaven on earth.

- I also endorse the Cook plan for a national dividend and a network of community banks. It is also relatively simple.

- I also endorse the Fair Tax as an approach to no counter-productive taxes at all. If production can create real wealth, then counter-production taxation is a "no no".

- At the moment the Internal Revenue Code is the most not-simple thing government is engaged in. It is counter-productive and criminal in its effect: it is based on self-incrimination and summary denial of the right of reasonable privacy. Its only purpose is to beggar the middle class and keep politicians in office via sale of Code provisions by campaigning lawmakers.

- Among our members is Robert Searle inventor of Transfinancial Economics. It is a theory of Utopian governance similar to my own based on powerful computations that allow money to be our servant not our master.
